Most Worshipful Brother Greg was born on March 16, 1965 in Spring Grove (Richmond) Indiana.  He is the son of Clinton Edward Powell and Sandra Kay (Williams) Powell.  He has one sister, Krista Hesler from Jasper, Indiana.  Brother Powell met his wife Nancy Anne Lyons in view of the Washington Memorial in Alexandria Virginia.  Brother Powell and his Lady Nancy chose to raise their two children, Caitlyn Rose and Garrett Gregory in the Northern Kentucky Region.

Brother Powell has been a pilot for 28 years, having started flying at the age of 14, and is currently serving as a Captain for Delta Air Lines where he has been employed since 1991. 

Brother Powell is a third generation Kentucky Freemason.  Brother Powell’s 3rd Great Grandfather, Berry Henderson Powell was raised in Indian Creek Lodge #614 in Clover Bottom, Kentucky in Jackson County.  Brother Powell’s father, Clinton Edward Powell was raised in Webb Lodge #, in Richmond, Indiana.  Brother Powell began his Masonic journey by being initiated, passed, and raised in Florence Lodge #949 in Florence, Kentucky in 1993.  He is actively and member of Petersburg Lodge #926, Ft. Thomas Lodge #808, Good Faith Lodge #95, and William O Ware Lodge of Research.  Brother Powell served as Master of Petersburg Lodge #926 for the years of 1996 and 2000.  Brother Powell is also the past presiding officer of Temple Chapter #172, Jeffries Council #33, and Newport Commandery #13.  He is also a member of Louisville-DeMolay Commandery #12 and Ft. Thomas Chapter #172.  He was the recipient of the Knight York Cross of Honor (KYCH) in 2002.  He is also a member of Magoffin Chapter #562 of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the Louisville and Covington Scottish Rite Bodies.
